Emmanuel Hovhannisian, Karen Shakhgaldian & Armine Grigorian

Emmanuel Hovhannisian (duduk and shvi; Armenia). Being a performer and composer, Emmanuel Hovhannisyan is one of the most famous musicians of his country. He graduated from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and currently teaches there. In the years of the study he was awarded a number of national and international awards.

The founder of the duduk school-studio "Dudukman", the Emotion band and the Sheram ensemble, performing works of Armenian ashugs of the XVI century.

Emmanuel Hovhannisyan performs at numerous festivals and concerts around the world both as a soloist and as a member of various musical programs. He cooperates with various orchestras and ensembles, performs works of Armenian composers and his own compositions.


Karen Shakhgaldian (violin; Armenia) - one of the most noticeable musicians of modern Russia. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in the class of Pr. Viktor Tretyakov and finished graduate study as Maya Glesarova’s student. He participated in master classes of Yehudi Menuhin, Vladimir Spivakov, Grigori Zhislin. For several years he was an artist of the Moscow Virtuosi orchestra under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov.

He visited with concerts more than 200 cities in such countries as the USA, China, Germany, Austria, Japan, Australia, Great Britain, South Korea, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia and Russia.

Since 2006 he has been the violinist of the Khachaturian Trio as well as the artistic director of the International Arts Festival in Yerevan.


Armine Grigorian (piano; Armenia) - graduated from the Komitas State Conservatoire of Yerevan where she currently works as a professor. She is also the director of the A.I. Khachaturian House-museum. She popularizes the music and the name of Khachaturian both at home and abroad, establishes new connections with other museums of the world.

Armine Grigoryan performed in Russia, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Lithuania, Lebanon, Cyprus and the USA. She has performed with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra.

As an accompanist she recieved special awards at the Khachaturian and Chillingaryan competitions. At the Rome-2003 competition she received the title of the laureate, a special prize and a medal from the Chamber of Deputies of Rome. In 2005 she organized the accompanist art festival for the first time in Armenia.

She performs in the trio of Aram Khachaturian along with his talented colleagues: violinist Karen Shahgaldian and cellist Karen Kocharian.
